Basic Courses Department of Weihai Vocational College is one of the important departments of higher vocational education in our college, undertaking the teaching task of basic courses. The Basic Courses Department mainly take charge of the teaching implementation and management of public basic courses, including Ideological and Political Theory course, College Physical Education, College English, College Chinese and College Students’ Psychological Health Education. Besides, this department also takes charge of the Mandarin Test, Sports Stadium Management, Physical Health Test, Sports Events Development, Sports Team Training and Sports Competitions Participation etc.
Basic Courses Department consists of the Office, Teaching Affairs Office, Sports Stadium Management Office, Moral Education Teaching & Research Group, PE Teaching & Research Group, Liberal Arts Teaching & Research Group, Science Teaching & Research Group, College English Teaching & Research Group etc. It includes 87 staff of all Bachelor degree or above, and 36 among them possess the title of associate professor or above.
Basic Courses Department focuses on teacher’s ethical constitution, advocating Professional Dedication Spirit, Rigorous Scholarship, standing out teaching and educating people, Observing the school motto "to cultivate virtue and enhance skill, to be rigorous and precise, and to learn and experience for using". The aim of Basic Courses Department is to cultivate talents with political integrity and professional competence and to create harmonious humanistic campus. The faculty of Basic Courses Department will strive for the development of creating a distinctive and first-class Vocational College.
